This is not your average wine from Madrid. This is a beautiful place, secluded in high-elevation mountains a 90 minutes drive west of the capital city. Granite juts up from the soil and the Grenache grape rules the land in a remarkably different way than you’d expect.

A lot of people are asking for “fresh” wines lately - but what does that even mean? As the pendulum shifts away from higher alcohol/oak/bold fruit to something lighter and more mineral-driven, wine drinkers are searching for regions that fit the bill. Add a dose of climate change and finding that bottle of red under 13% becomes almost impossible.
